It was a mammoth gathering, at the Ooni of Ife palace, Enuwa junction where party members and residents of the Ife Federal Constituency came out to throw in weight of support for the candidates of the People Democratic Party for various offices in the coming elections.

The gathering had in attendance party leaders, chieftains, faithfuls and supporters home and abroad. Personalities like the Party State Chairman Hon. Soji Adagunodo, National officer Mr Diran Odeyemi, National leader Prof. Wale Ladipo, Party chieftain OmoOba Ayoade Adewopo, candidates for various offices at all levels, were among those present at the flag off rally in Ile-Ife.
The state chairman, Soji Adagunodo addressed the crowd intimating them on the proceedings at the tribunal, the case between the party's candidate (Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke) and the ruling party's candidate (Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola) in the just concluded  Osun gubernatorial election. According to him, "my good people of Ife, with your support we can get our mandate and get Nigeria working again at the federal level by voting in our leader and candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, this will invariably assure us of victory at the state and local levels. In the petition before the tribunal, the APC tried various dubious means to get the judgment in their favor but all to no avail. They filed an application of dismissal twice to various tribunals set up to look into the case, in the state and at Abuja but to their greatest surprise, they got disappointed by these tribunals as the Judges handling this case rejected their application to further decide on the case despite monetary incentives. The current Judge of this case have confirmed that by March 4, the ruling on the case will be delivered and the PDP will get their mandate back and our candidate in person of Senator Ademola Adeleke will be declared winner at the tribunal.", he said. He also made the people to see the conviction in voting a youth in person of Abimbola Ajilesoro as their representative at federal level cause it is a sign that the party supports the not too young to run bill which created opportunity for youths to take up leadership position at the local, state and federal level.

Prof Wale Ladipo, a national leader of the party also implore the people of Ife to make sure they turn out en masse to vote in candidates of the party in the February elections. In his words, "I greet and salute you all for your doggedness and ever supportive spirit for our dear party and I am definitely going to report back to our national executives of our party strength in Osun assuring them of victory from our dear state. I will beg us all to come out in this number to mobilize votes of victory for our great party at all levels in the coming elections.", he said.
Reports had it that various leaders who decamped from opposition parties were warmly welcomed and decorated with the party's muffler in the name of the party's national president, Prince Uche Secondus and they gave their word of support to ensure victory for the People's Democratic Party in the state.

As the rally progressed, the National officer representing the National President of the party, Mr Diran Odeyemi was introduced by the state chairman to hand over the party's flag to each candidate, starting from the Senatorial candidate Pa Adenigba Francis Fadahunsi, Ife Federal House of Representatives candidate Otunba Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro, and all other state house of assembly candidates representing Ife Central, Ife North, Ife South, Ife East respectively in order to kick start the flag off campaign to usher in victory for the party in the elections.

They were promises that enlighten the spirit and soul of the people of Ife if eventually the party candidates are voted for to victory in the coming elections. Party members were reported chanting songs of victory ahead of the poll as they all show their confidence and readiness to flush out the ruling APC party from the federal to the state and local levels respectively.

Lastly, party members and youths showcase their support by marching in their large numbers with the PDP candidate for the Federal House of Representatives, Otunba Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro publicly from the rally ground to his residence at Eleyele creating a conscious awareness of their own person and candidate in the town and environs.
