NAFDAC must take it easy - Theo Adebowale

By Theo Adebowale |The recent move by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to ban the sale and consumption of alcoholic substances in polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE) and glass bottles has attracted lots of reactions from well meaning Nigerians. In light, is an article by Theo Adebowale, a Doctor of Politics and columnist of the HOPE newspaper, where he advices the regulatory body, NAFDAC to take it easy on the people this period. The article reads "Wine is reckless, rowdy; unwise in anyone whom it seduces. But because it cheers people's hearts not a few in the population fall for it. Many stagger for wine. Prof. Sade Ogunsola; Great Ife Alumnae emerges as UNILAG's Acting VC.

  Members of the Senate, University Of Lagos On Monday Elected Professor Folasade Ogunsola As The Acting Vice-chancellor Of The School. It was gathered that two Deputy Vice-Chancellors vied for the position, one from Development Services and the other from Management Services. Out of the 167 senate members who voted at the exercise, 135 voted for DVC Development Services while DVC Management Services got 31 votes, one voided vote was recorded. The Senate Emergency Committee Chairman, Professor Chioma Agomo who spoke to Journalists after the election said due process was followed in electing the new acting VC as directed by the Federal Government. Professor Ogunsola until her election, was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Development Services. She was the provost of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos. OBASANJO: God can take me home after 20 more years

Former President Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo has said he wished to live for 20 more years after which God could call him home.  Obasanjo, 83 years, spoke in Abeokuta, Ogun State, at the first year coronation anniversary of the Agura of Gbagura, Oba Sabur Bakare, Jamolu II. Oba Bakare received the staff of office from a former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on May 21, 2019 as the 9th Agura of Gbagura.
