Akingboye Berates Akeredolu Over Abandonment Of Truck On Oba-Akoko Road

June 9, 2019 Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, a governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State berates Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for abandoning a truck which since has registered an ugly presence after it's involvement in an accident along Oba-Akoko road three weeks ago. In a press statement released and signed by Akingboye's press secretary, Iwakun Oyeniyi, he opines that if relevant agencies charged with the responsibility of maintaining safety on roads have failed, it behooves on Governor Akeredolu to take full responsibility if truly the safety of lives and properties matters to him. He maintains that such sensitive road should gain priority from a serious government that is sensitive to the safety and welfare of its citizens, in that, the abandoned truck would continue to increase accidents' rate at that particular point. Furthermore, it is incontrovertible that Oba-Akoko among other towns in the northern senatorial district of Ondo State is prone to attacks from kidnappers and armed bandits, hence the need for it to be free from material hideouts such as damaged vechiles. Akingboye, saddened by the rate of insecurity in the state, cautions Governor Akeredolu against exposing the lives of innocent people to attacks through negligence of duty that has characterized his administration. Akingboye says it is unfair on the part of the state governor to continually allow residents and travellers witness untold hardship and danger over his short-sightedness about governance. Speaking further, he says this reckless action of government could be likened to a failed discharge of administrative duties, which may result to creating fear in the minds of residents. Otunba Akingboye however assures that if Governor Akeredolu and other relevant agencies do not do the needful within 7 days, he would be forced to remove wreckages of the truck for the sake of Nigerians and foreigners plying the road. Conclusively, the governorship aspirant tasks Governor Akeredolu on how imperative the provision of quality leadership by ensuring the safety of lives and properties of residents.
